This is my fourth piece, and my most ambitious effort to date. I saw my piece as a celebration of the creation of life, through agriculture; the scarifier tilling the soil; the gorgeous red slate rock representing the soil, and the ultimate combination of them both producing the seed. And when deciding on what music to be the backdrop of the video, it had to be the fabulous “Fear the Reaper” by Blue Oyster Cult; we reap what we sow.
The scarifier “bursting” from the rock, with the shards of slate erupting around it is dramatically fabulous for the piece.
I chose a discreet but also very striking, latching switch with blue LED ring, and female socket to receive the power jack, as they were able to be fitted as part of the piece rather than externally.
